Maths Monsters and Ocean Wonders!
What an exciting time it's been in Kindergarten! Our classroom has been buzzing with creativity and discovery as we've been delving into some fascinating new concepts.
Rolling into Number Fun!
We've been exploring numbers, and the highlight has been creating our very own Maths Monsters! The children have been learning about addition in a play-based, fun way: by rolling two dice together, adding the numbers, and then adding that many body parts to their unique monsters! We've seen monsters with many eyes, extra arms, and crazy legs – all thanks to our exciting dice rolls and quick adding skills. It's wonderful to see their confidence with numbers growing every day.
We've teamed up with our wonderful Big Buddies to create an amazing 3D sculpture for the EcoArt competition at Coffs Central! Our sculpture is all about caring for our ocean, reminding us that every action counts when it comes to protecting our beautiful marine life. We've used recycled materials to bring our ideas to life, and it's been incredible to see how our Big Buddies have helped us turn our designs into a fantastic work of art. Do keep an eye out for our creation at Coffs Central – we can't wait for you to see it.
Art Competition: Pilgrims of Hope!
We've also embarked on a very special art project linked to the Jubilee Year: Pilgrims of Hope! We were so excited to welcome Mrs Dagger who spoke to us about this important theme.
Inspired by the idea of being "Pilgrims of Hope," our Kindergarten class has been busy creating some truly wonderful artworks. We've been thinking about what hope means to us, and how we can show kindness and positivity in our everyday lives, just like pilgrims journeying with hope.
Our Classroom: The "Third Teacher" in Action!
Did you know our classroom is a very helpful "Third Teacher"? We've been learning how our learning environment can support us, especially with our language and writing skills. Our classroom is set up with special tools and resources that help us learn new words and write sentences.
We've been busy practising with our co-constructed anchor charts on nouns and adjectives. and using these charts to create really interesting oral and written sentences.
