Stage 1 Newsletter Item
It has been such a pleasure to welcome our Stage 1 students back after a well deserved Easter break. They were excited to catch up with friends and swap holiday stories as the new term began.
Writing
Here are just a few examples of what some of our students got up to during the holidays. Their task was to write some ‘Super Sentences’ about some of their holiday highlights. ‘A Super Sentence’; starts with a capital letter, ends with a full stop, tells us about something or someone and must make sense. The students also had to add conjunctions (joining words such as; and, but, so, because) to transform their simple sentences into a compound sentence.
Cross Country
We were so proud of the Stage 1 students, their efforts and smiles as they took part in our annual school Cross Country Carnival!

Religion
Stage 1 were busy last week creating artwork to support their learning about “The Resurrection”. There was some serious concentration happening while they were cutting out and creating 3 crosses to glue onto their painted sunset.
Maths
Last week Stage 1 was given a challenge where they had to explore how many different ways they could arrange 5 triangles to create a new shape. The sides of the triangles had to align with each other. Using concrete materials to investigate and then record on a triangular grid.
