Parents are our first partners in a child’s education and quality two-way communication between home and school is essential to making your child’s experience of school the most positive it can be. The school communicates via Compass alerts through app and/or email, newsletters, email, phone calls, Facebook and occasionally via paper.
We have Parent-Teacher meetings scheduled in Term 1 (Informal Meet the Teacher) and Term 3 (Formal requiring booking online). At the beginning of each year students have a one-on-one Maths Assessment Interview (MAI) with their class teacher. Throughout the year, parents are invited to provide input on a number of topics so that we can determine what we are doing well and what we might be able to do better.
All teachers share their emails with parents to communicate and are available for meetings before or after school hours on request. Alternatively, you can phone the office to arrange an appointment.
You will be notified through our newsletter and alerts of booking for Parent Teacher meetings and Maths Assessment Interviews. You are required to book online at the Parent Portal >>>

Our social media channels aim to create an environment where our community can safely engage in conversation and is free to make comments, questions and suggestions. We ask that anyone engaging with our social media channels show courtesy, kindness and respect for all other members of our school and social media communities. By engaging with our social media channels, you agree to follow these guidelines. Comments must not: Contain spam, be defamatory of any person, deceive others, be obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, hateful, inflammatory or promote sexually explicit material or violence. Breach any of the terms of any of the social media platforms themselves. Be off-topic, irrelevant or unintelligible. Contain any advertising or promote any services that are not first approved by St Mary’s Primary School or are unrelated to St Mary’s Primary School.
