May this Easter be a time of spiritual renewal, but also let it be a time for family and community. Let us draw inspiration from the selfless love of Christ, and may his abiding presence fill our hearts with peace, joy, and everlasting hope.

Last week and this week our students led us through the events of Holy Week. Thank you to the family members who were able to attend some of these events.
Our school will join with more than 45 schools across the Lismore Diocese to celebrate Catholic Education Week (CEW). This will take place in Week 11, Term 1 from April 8-12.
This year’s theme is “Innovation and Faith’. The transforming power of innovation and faith working in unison to ensure our students experience the fullness of life (John 10:10).
For many of the great innovators throughout history, their faith motivated them to explore and understand the wonders of the universe. Our Catholic schools walk alongside clergy, parishioners and families to prepare and nurture our future innovators and faith leaders on their journey.
I would like to extend a warm invitation for you to participate in our Catholic Education Week events and faith celebrations. Please take the opportunity with members of our parish and wider community, to experience innovation and faith in our Catholic school.
You are invited to attend our open classrooms and prayer service on Tuesday, April 9th from 12.15-1.45. We will be providing an afternoon tea for adults to be able to catch up with each other and meet members of our community.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to seeing you during our celebrations for Catholic Education Week in 2024.
Sacrament of Confirmation Program 2024
The Confirmation preparation program will run over eight weeks (excluding school holidays) in the parish centre meeting room in Bellingen after the 8am Sunday morning Mass.
A child is eligible for the sacrament of Confirmation if they are baptised Catholic, between the ages of 8 and 15 years, and should be attending Sunday (or Saturday night) mass every week.
Enrolment and Parental Authority forms are available from the parish office and must be collected before the day of the Parent Meeting. To obtain the forms you will need to bring with you your child’s baptism certificate (no photocopies) plus proof of ID (e.g. photo driver’s license) of all legal guardians of your child.
The completed enrolment form (and Parental Authority form) is to be brought to the Parent Meeting at the Parish Centre Meeting Room on Tuesday 14th May at 7pm. Enrolment will take place at that meeting.
Enrolment forms will not be available at the Parent Meeting.
For more information please contact the Parish Office.
Good attendance in primary school will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school.
Good attendance in primary school is a fundamental building block for academic success and overall well-being, and it sets the stage for success in high school and beyond. Primary school is the foundational stage of a child's education. Regular attendance ensures that children build a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and skills that serve as the basis for more advanced learning in high school.
By recognising the long-term benefits and reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance in primary years, students are better equipped to succeed in high school and beyond. Attending school regularly instils a sense of responsibility and work ethic in students and participating actively in class are essential components of success.
Early in Term 2, we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process. More information to come.
As we approached Holy Week on the Easter calendar, we were blessed to have the pleasure of praising God together through music, song, dance and a whole lot of fun with Andrew Chinn. Andrew is an extremely talented, generous, funny and sincere friend of St. Mary’s and we cannot forget to mention his extraordinary ability to remember so many of our names. He had us all shimmying, shaking and strutting our stuff!
K-6 practised running the Cross Country track for three weeks to prepare for St. Mary’s annual event held on Wednesday 20th March. Blue, Gold, Red and Green teams dressed it up and turned it out! Congratulations to all teams, students, teachers and parents for supporting, participating and making this colourful event a HUGE success and tons of fun, positivity and celebration!
In Year 4 Maths, students have explored telling both digital and analogue time, converting time and calculating time intervals. Fractions are connected to analogue time so students are currently investigating fractions in relation to time, measurements and real life scenarios.

We are a Food Allergy Aware School. Your cooperation would be appreciated in talking with your children about the importance of not sharing food or putting any food items close to another child. We are requesting that families talk to students about the importance of not playing with food and sitting to eat.
