Make getting students to school on time every day a top priority.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Ensuring that students arrive at school on time every day is crucial for their academic success and wellbeing. Parents play a crucial role in instilling the importance of punctuality in their children. Here are some strategies for parents to make getting students to school on time every day a top priority:
- Establish a Consistent Routine. Set a daily routine that includes specific times for waking up, getting ready, having breakfast, and leaving for school. Consistency helps children develop good habits.
- Model Punctuality. Children often learn by example. Demonstrate the importance of punctuality by being on time for family events, appointments, and other commitments.
- Limit or Have No Screen Time in the Morning. Minimise distractions such as excessive screen time in the morning. This helps your child stay focused on getting ready for school without unnecessary delays.

Sacrament of Confirmation Program 2024
The Confirmation preparation program will run over eight weeks (excluding school holidays) in the parish centre meeting room in Bellingen after the 8am Sunday morning Mass.
A child is eligible for the sacrament of Confirmation if they are baptised Catholic, between the ages of 8 and 15 years, and should be attending Sunday (or Saturday night) mass every week.
Enrolment and Parental Authority forms are available from the parish office and must be collected before the day of the Parent Meeting. To obtain the forms you will need to bring with you your child’s baptism certificate (no photocopies) plus proof of ID (e.g. photo driver’s license) of all legal guardians of your child.
The completed enrolment form (and Parental Authority form) is to be brought to the Parent Meeting at the Parish Centre Meeting Room on Tuesday 14th May at 7pm. Enrolment will take place at that meeting.
Enrolment forms will not be available at the Parent Meeting.
For more information please contact the Parish Office.
Every Friday afternoon, we split into vertical home rooms with groups of children K-2 and 3-6 coming together. K-2 has a focus on learning and practising skills such as taking turns, listening and following instructions.
3-6 rotate around activities every 3 weeks and these vary. So far this year we have experiences mindfulness, meditation, breathing techniques, reflecting on your week, physical games and movement, dance and art. On Friday I asked my group why they thought Caring Connections was an important part of our school week. The responses were spot on;
- We get to try out different ways to be calm.
- We get to know people from different classes who we normally wouldn’t talk to.
- We get to help each other and work with people from different years.
We were hoping Caring Connections would provide us with some of these experiences. For students to be able to articulate this is even better!

All types of travel require planning, safe practices and observing road rules and guidelines.
Young children, in particular, require active supervision by an adult whenever they are in and around the traffic environment.
